The Writing World is Alive

Since my last blog at the end of January telling you I had finished my novel and it had gone to my publisher I’ve taken some time off. Well, not exactly a holiday but what I did was enjoyable and turned out well. I worked on the outline for a new novel. The outline was about 2000 words. I also did a Prologue of about 1000 words which gave something of the direction in which the novel would move. Yesterday,  on those two brief items, the novel was accepted and a contract will be following. Once the outline had been sent off I returned to my book cataloguing. ( mentioned in an earlier blog that I had got some software for this purpose.) That went well and I completed calaloguing the section of my library I wanted to get done before I heard about the new novel. All has fallen into place nicely.  I thoroughly enjoy the cataloguing; it brings the books alive again and handling them is a great joy to me.  I cannot see that the ‘machines’ for reading books can provide the same sort of pleasure, though I can see their uses.

A new Jessica Blair  hardback   Secrets of a Whitby Girl  comes out on March 3rd. Also on that day comes the paperback of  Sealed Secrets.

Next week, 3rd March, We resume our RNA (Romantic Novelist Association) meetings after a winter break. It will be good to meet up with friendly fellow-writers again and exchange notes about our writing worlds.
