Great news from publisher; 2 Jessica Blair novels (unabridged) will be available for download via iTunes and Audible on July 21st  and 10 more at the end of August.

My new novel with the background of 1912 to 1946 is going well -words flowing nicely.

English Ruins

I have placed on my bookshelf ENGLISH RUINS by Jeremy Musson, Photographs by Paul Barker (Merrell £30)

It is a suberb book and reminds us that ruins link us with the past and that fascinating stories are embedded in the stones and bricks whether they be of an early age or of  time within living memory. The author makes his Selections  from all over the country and are presented here in the categories of Abbeys and Churches, Castles and Forts, Country Houses, Industrial Ruins, Villages and Townhouses. the author presents his writing in a pleasant style placing the ruins in the context of England’s history. It makes for interesting reading and will make us look at ruins in a different light. The lively and succinct text is matched by the superb photographs, nearly all in colour, making this book one to treasure and enjoy.

Books

Today I have been sorting my library with the help of my daughter. It had got untidy with books out of place on the shelves, stacked on the floor and even outside the library trying to get in! We had a highly successful time and all the books are very happy – they had been wanting a change and a bit of TLC.  They returned our love and showed by their reaction that there is something very special about handling a book that can’t be matched by using any of the technologies that are trying to usurp the true role of the physical book.
